Salary: $30.00 - $45.36 per hour

You’ll Do:

  • Perform initial and follow-up physical assessment/history;
  • Differentiate normal and abnormal assessment findings;
  • Analyze and prioritize abnormal findings;
  • Initiate action/response appropriate response;
  • Anticipate actual or potential problems or health concerns;
  • Demonstrate ongoing assessment of patients psychosocial, physiological and educational process per unit policy;
  • Anticipate, recognize and document changes in patient’s physical and mental status;
  • Integrate analysis of diagnostic information in patient assessment and care;
  • Analyze ongoing assessments to determine patient learning and discharge needs;
  • Integrate assessment data and formulates an individualized nursing diagnosis;
  • Formulate an individualized plan of care;
  • Identify and focus on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, learning and discharge planning needs of the patient;
  • Develop, interpret and correlate realistic goals and orders to maintain or improve patient health status;
  • Discuss and disseminate information concerning patient plan of care with members of the interdisciplinary health care team;
  • Participate in ongoing discharge planning with members of the interdisciplinary health care team;
  • Modify individualized plan of care based on ongoing assessment and changes in patient status;
  •  Anticipate and manage changing situations;
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications promptly according to hospital policies and procedures;
  • Guide and provide functional supervision of ancillary staff while maintaining accountability for patient care;
  • Recognize and question unsafe, incorrect or inadequate orders; Intervenes to clarify patient orders;
  • Document nursing care in accordance with hospital policy;
  • Recognize and question unsafe, incorrect or inadequate orders;
  • Intervenes to clarify patient order;
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and utilizes recommendations in patient care delivery; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

You’ll Need:

Education

  • RN degree from 2- or 4-year accredited nursing program

Certification(s), Licensure(s) & Registration(s)

  • RN Iowa or Compact State licensure
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 6 months of hire
  • Maintain CEU/CME’s as applicable for licensure/certification
