Surgery Scheduler

The Physicians Clinic of Iowa Department of ENT is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler for its busy practice. 

This individual will be responsible for the entire scheduling process including, but not limited to the following:

• Coordinate surgery with patient, hospital, anesthesia, and physician’s schedule; adjust accordingly
• Schedule labs, radiology studies, and EKG’s when indicated
• Schedule preadmission surgical appointments if indicated
• Schedule appointments with family physician, cardiologist, or any referring physicians if appropriate 
• Work with Prior Authorization team to obtain insurance prior authorizations for diagnostic testing and surgical procedures.

 Requirements:

• Prefer applicants with experience in medical office performing similar functions.
• Must be able to provide the highest level of customer service to patients, physicians, and all practice personnel. 
• Ability to work well with others is a must. 
• Applicants should possess excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills, and possess a professional image. 
• The leading candidate must also have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems and possess an orientation to detail and organization.
