Vascular R.T.R. (ARRT, IDPH) – Vascular Surgery Department

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa’s Vascular Surgery Department is seeking a Vascular R.T.R to join our team of dedicated professionals.  This position is full-time (40 hours per week).  The successful candidate must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.  This individual will obtain vitals and record in EHR, assist in preparing patients for exams, and record test results. 

Other duties as defined in the PCI Vascular Center procedure manual may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with patient preparation for Angiography/Vascular procedures. Including patient and care giver education pertaining to the scheduled procedure, communication with the patient or care givers about their outcome expectations and the provider’s prescribed treatment plan,
  • Assist with Intra-Angiography/Vascular procedures- patient monitoring and medical assessment; provide invasive procedural assistance for all vascular exams performed at the PCI Vascular Center.
  • Responsible for supply ordering to include but not limited to multi-vendor vascular supplies, patient care medical supplies, office and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Assist with Post- Angiography/Vascular procedures- patient monitoring, medical assessment and other patient recovery processes including post-procedure discharge instructions.
  • Assist in clinical operations including rooming patients, taking vitals, answering phones and scheduling.
  • Demonstrates competence in patient and workplace safety.
  • Demonstrates PCI Service Standards and exhibits initiative to improve quality and customer service to exceed customer expectations.
  • Demonstrates Team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other’s views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to team goals in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrates ownership in prioritizing the care of the patient and success of the team above individual interests.
  • Assists with the Quality Assurance program and any relating Vascular Center accreditation functions/requirements.


  • A.R.R.T. Intravascular (V.I.) board certification preferred but not required.
  • Must have current IDPH Permit to Practice. 
  • CPR-ACLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire date.
  • Successful candidates must have excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate clearly, written and oral, to patients, care givers, vascular supply vendors, physicians, and staff.            
  • The qualified individual will be patient focused and must work well with team members.
  • Experience in Angiography and Vascular Surgery patient care is required. 
  • Candidate must have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems.
