Data Analyst

The Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a full-time Data Analyst.  This project-oriented position collects, aggregates and analyzes data from various sources in support of administrative activities in the areas of management, accounting, operations, marketing, and PQRS/Meaningful Use. Develops, designs, and maintains logical databases and coordinates the development of reporting mechanisms as part of projects and ongoing reporting needs. This position also provides as needed assistance to patients related to obtaining requested medical records and accessing the patient portal.

Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:      

  • Prepare and analyzes monthly billing and collection reports utilizing eCW, Intergy and Practice Analytics.
  • Assist with reporting needs of both PCI and Medical Group Solutions related to insurance reporting, routine monthly or quarterly reports and ad hoc requests from physicians or members of the PCI management team.
  • Develops and implements a report request communication tool to determine the scope, limitation, and prioritization of requests.
  • Work to improve efficiencies of all existing reports and develop standard work instructions for all ongoing reports.
  • Work directly with accounting department to analyze revenues and expenses.
  • Communicates internally regarding findings using charts, graphs, formatted tables, etc.
  • Runs monthly status reports for Meaningful Use and PQRS attestation measures.
  • Assists with compiling report for year-end attestation processes for Meaningful Use and PQRS.
  • Assist patients with obtaining copies for records and/or completing signed authorizations.
  • Provides general assistance to patients in the Pavilion who are seeking copies of their medical records/
  • Prepares CD ROM's for patients requesting copies of their imaging results.
  • Assists patients with portal registration and provides basic support via phone and email; issues PINs and/or link patient accounts when requested.


  • Applicants should possess strong communication and customer service skills as well as possess a high level of comfort working with computer systems. 
  • Experience working with Excel, PowerPoint and Access a plus. 
  • Associates Degree and/or one to two years’ experience preferred.
