This position will support HR application programming  supporting the systemwide HR Organization. 


The Application Programming Analysts will assist in the design of product and product enhancements and develops, modifies, tests, and installs application software. Works with users to analyze business needs and information requirements related to assigned projects. Performs the detailed analysis, design, and testing specifications for new products and upgrades. Participates in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC).


Issue Resolution

  • Independently supports and resolves issues with assigned applications in adherence with service expectations and change management policies.
  • Takes ownership of escalated customer issues and works with multiple parties and/or vendor to help resolve issue.
  • Provides day and after hours on-call coverage as scheduled. May assume additional on-call responsibilities as directed by Manager.
  • Follows and may lead the enhancement process and Change Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficient with the application.  Has consistently implemented enhancements/changes independently.  Can implement system integrations independently or with assistance from senior level analysts.

Operational Support and Improvement

  • Researches and communicates options to support decision-making discussions to determine strategy for implementation of tools and systems
  • Advocates for and acts as an agent of progressive change within the organization and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Researches solutions to improve service such as processes, standards and/or products.
  • Participates in decision-making or technical solution-oriented discussions.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation. Communicates necessary information to the required teams.
  • Demonstrates adherence to application standards and guidelines and assists with meeting maintenance program requirements.
  • Reviews release notes, configures and tests application changes.
  • Understands and contributes to improvement of testing processes. Ensures team members follow the test scripts and processes.
  • Understands concepts of database connectivity and relational databases and has the ability to apply concepts for design.
  • Develops scripts independently to load and integrate data and other systems' workflows.  Assists with supporting existing programming scripts.

Compliance and Security

  • Understands HIPAA standards, regulatory, and security requirements pertaining to database, server, and/or application management.
  • Follows appropriate security processes for supported applications.

Project Management

  • Leads and coordinates projects as assigned, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to create business requirements and determine if product(s) and workflows(s) meet these business needs for medium-level complexity projects. Able to evaluate solutions' ability to meet customer needs.
  • Leads moderately complex projects independently or as a part of a larger project team.
  • Develops project plans and tracks progress, escalating as necessary when project issues arise or deadlines are challenged.
  • Follows technical and operational cutover tasks and contributes to solutions for resulting issues



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience


  • 2 years application programming experience
  • 2 years experience in a health care organization information systems processes highly preferred


  • Knowledge of health care organization information systems processes
  • Strong communication – written and verbal
  • Ability to conduct research into technology issues, standards and products
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to manage priorities, deadlines, and execute tasks
  • Proactively communicates when risks and issues arise; takes appropriate action(s)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills while demonstrating a high degree of objectivity, diplomacy and tact.
  • The ability to work productively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with Lawson GHR, Infor Process Automation (IPA), and Landmark Applications.
  • Experience with Lawson Configuration Console
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience with ITIL standards
