Administrators (2 Positions)

Simpson Memorial Home & Wilton Retirement Community

Simpson Memorial Home, Inc. is now hiring two Administrators. One Administrator will be responsible for operations at our campus in Wilton, Iowa, and the other Administrator will be responsible for operations at our campus in West Liberty, Iowa. We are looking for two Administrators that can work well together to coordinate resources between the campuses (about 15 miles apart) and be active in representing their campus in each community.

Simpson Memorial Home, Inc. is a community based non-profit run by a Board of Directors made up of community members from the West Liberty and Wilton areas. Each Administrator would report directly to the Board.

The West Liberty campus has a 65 bed skilled nursing facility, 18 assisted living apartments, 24 independent living apartments, and 6 independent living townhomes. The Wilton campus has a 24 bed skilled nursing facility, a 10 bed CCDI unit, and 24 assisted living apartments. Both campuses have a 5 star rating.

The Administrator at each campus would be responsible (not an inclusive list) for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; competent and appropriate management of staff; developing positive working relationships with the Board of Directors, the other Administrator, staff members, residents, tenants, and families; fostering good public relations in the community and working with other community organizations; Maintaining appropriate fiscal procedures and budgeting; serving as an ex officio member of the Board of Directors; and working with outside contractors and consultants as appropriate.

An applicant to be the Administrator should meet the following qualifications/preferences:

  1. Be a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in good standing with the State of Iowa;
  2. Have a Bachelor’s Degree or have an equivalent amount of education/experience in healthcare;
  3. Good communication skills (Spanish proficiency would be helpful);
  4. A demonstrated willingness to be active in one’s community; and
  5. Three to five years experience as an Administrator or Assistant Administrator is preferred.
