The Department of Radiology, is seeking a full time Imagining Technologist (CT) A 100% Imaging Technologist with primary duties in CT. Perform and teach specialized CT procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. Work schedule is primarily Sunday through Thursday, rotating day shift, weekends, and holidays.
Position Responsibilities:
  •  Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing CT imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision. 
  • Perform CT procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel and equipment.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff.
  • Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public

Education Required
  • Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.

Experience Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Recent work or clinical education experience in CT.
  • CT modality training.
  • CT certification or eligible.
  • Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
