RN or LPN Contract School Nurse

To The Rescue has an immediate opening for a Contract School Nurse(RN or LPN) to administer care to patients on an hourly basis in the school setting, to include aboard school transportation. This will be performed in accordance with a physician directed school health plan, obtained by the school district, under the direction and supervision of the school district nurse and agency Clinical Manager.

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing and currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing.
  • One (1) year nursing experience preferred
  • Acceptance of philosophy and goals of this Agency.
  • Ability to exercise initiative.
  • Provides services in accordance with school health plan.
  • Regularly evaluates the patient's nursing needs.
  • Initiates the school health plan and informs supervisor of any needed necessary revisions.
  • Furnishes those services requiring substantial specialized nursing skills.
  • Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
  • Prepares required documents/ notes for patient each day and submits to the school district as required.
  • Coordinates services.
  • Informs school district nurse and patients' parent(s) of changes in the patients condition and needs.
  • Participates in in-services programs, supervising and teaching other nursing personnel.
  • Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.
  • Gives total patient care as needed.
  • Observes confidentiality, safeguards all patient related information.
  • Attends staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled.
  • Completes documentation and paperwork in a timely manner per school district/ agency policy.
  • Immediately reports to Clinical Manager any patient incidents/ variances or complaints.
  • Demonstrates competent performance of technical skills according to established procedures.
  • Understands and adheres to established policies/procedures.
  • Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance status per Agency policy.
  • Reports all incomplete work assignments to Clinical Manager.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, critical thinking and decision making.
  • Maintains current CPR certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
