Job Information:

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a 100% Radiation Therapist. Radiation Therapists apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist and provide radiation therapy protection monitoring in all clinical areas. They independently manage and operate linear accelerators and/or high dose brachytherapy equipment.

Qualified applicants will be eligible for certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists in radiation therapy procedures, or Bachelors’ Degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent required. Permit to practice in the State of Iowa is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Highly desirable qualifications include a Bachelors’ Degree in Radiation Sciences, recent experience with current advanced radiation therapy technology, recent experience with specialized radiation therapy procedures, recent specialized treatment imaging positioning and localization techniques, and recent experience with magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Electronic medical record system experience also highly desirable.
