FINANCIAL ANALYST
DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY

Become a member of our team – a team that is changing medicine and changing lives! The Department of Pathology is currently accepting applications for a Financial Analyst in Pathology Administration.  

DUTIES
Responsible for assigned revenue cycle monitoring/maintenance tasks in the Department of Pathology. Serves as liaison between Pathology staff members and Patient Fiscal Services staff members to proactively develop and advise on Pathology specific billing and coding processes to maximize opportunities for revenue capture. Monitors work queues and takes appropriate action to resolve revenue issues caught in various stages of the revenue cycle. Performs basic accounting tasks and analyzes financial reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Information Management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2.1-3 years experience using databases, queries, Excel, and reporting tools for report generation and analysis
3.Experience gathering information from multiple data sources, understanding the context and demonstrating detailed analytical skills with the ability to turn raw data into actionable information
4.Experience identifying opportunities for operational improvement
5.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6.Proficiency in computer software applications.  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Medical coding experience is highly desired.
2.Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and corresponding data and metrics is highly desired
3.Familiarity with medical coding and/or billing
4.Knowledge of/familiarity with the organizational structure of and standard operating procedures used in UI Health Care Revenue Cycle.
5.Experience using EPIC products such as EPIC Beaker and EPIC Resolute.
6.Familiarity with/working knowledge of Haemonetics.
7.Familiarity with GL reports
