      Care Initiatives, the largest single operator of quality nursing homes in Iowa, is currently hiring a talented Activity Coordinator to join our team!

      In the Activity Coordinator role you will be an important part of our team creating community and coordinating a broad program of activities for cognitive, physical, spiritual and social stimulation for our residents.


      We are looking for a positive, outgoing individual with excellent communication and organizational skills. This position requires someone who is dependable, compassionate, self-directed, a team player and passionate about serving the needs of the people in our care.


      Hours: Typically Monday to Friday, with some required holidays, evenings and weekends.


      Wage: Salary is dependent on education and experience.

      In this role the Activity Coordinator will:


      • Conduct large and small group activities as well as one-on-one interactions
      • Identify and assist in meeting residents’ social and emotional needs
      • Conduct and develop resident assessments and individualized care plans
      • Participate in care plan conferences, quality assurance, and safety meetings
      • Experience working in long term care with individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease a strong plus
      • Must be willing to complete the state-approved Activity Coordinator course (100% paid by facility)
      Qualifications:

      • High level of literacy in spoken and written English.
      • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, authorized to work in the U.S. and meet background check requirements.
