Commercial Loan Processor

SCOPE:
This position’s primary responsibility will be to receive, organize and check in loan processing requests.  Order any/all 3rd party services required to process each file.  Track all items ordered and received, utilize loan software completed by the lending staff to process all agricultural and commercial loans, extensions and modifications.  Check loans processed by other processors as quality control and provide superior customer service to customers, loan officers, and others to insure a professional and timely loan transaction.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Support Lenders/Lending Assistants:  (60%)

  • Receive, organize and check in loan processing requests as they are received from lenders.  Acquire information required for processing the loan from the lender, credit files or other sources as needed.
  • Maintain a pipeline report. Email lenders and assistants when files and/or documentation are received.
  • Order all 3rd party services such as appraisals, title work and flood certifications. Distribute appraisals and title work to the appropriate parties.
  • Follow up on appraisals to ensure timely delivery. Work closely with attorneys, title companies, realtors and other 3rd party servicers to ensure timely delivery of title work, seller #’s and help to clear title objections.
  • Pay appraisal invoices as they are received. 
  • Assist in preparing preliminary disclosures in a timely manner.

Processing/Quality Control:  (35%)

  • Provide guidance for co-workers and lenders concerning compliance and documentation requirements.
  • Review loans to ensure accuracy of documentation, compliance with federal and state regulations, and compliance with the in-house loan policy.
  • Using Credit Quest and information collected, process agricultural and commercial loans, extensions and modifications.
  • Generate note, mortgage and associated documents per the direction of lending staff for new loans that are underwritten by the bank and email documents to the lender’s location.
  • Obtain pay-off information as necessary, review preliminary title opinions and other essential documents.
  • Maintain knowledge and comply with federal and state compliance laws and regulations to assure accurate and compliant loan documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of current loan documentation guidelines for agricultural, business and real estate loans to perfect the banks lien on collateral.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of the bank’s loan software systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our lenders to ensure the end customer’s needs are met.
  • Assist in funding agricultural and commercial loans as needed.

Other:  (5%)

  • As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment.  This includes computer skills, communications skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.
