401K Manager

TrueNorth Companies has an immediate opening for a 401k Account Manager to work closely with our Employee Benefits team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Account Manager is responsible performing duties and maintaining quality service that supports retirement plan sponsors, participants and producers.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:   

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, both internal and external   
  • Manage the communication, relationships and servicing of new and existing retirement plan groups  
  • Work with Producers to provide quality proposals and presentations for prospects and clients with high attention to detail   
  • Prepare and present retirement plan service expectations  
  • Manage new client conversion and implementation process; follow thru during onboarding to ensure effective transition  
  • Research questions for clients; prepare supporting documentation if necessary  
  • Maintain quality client service on a daily basis by providing consistent, timely and accurate service; provide specifics to the producer when service issues are discovered  
  • Maintain agency management systems with all correspondence related to client plans   
  • Coordinate enrollment and other client meetings as necessary 
  • Maintain knowledge of various legal requirements for retirement plans 
  • Educate external Human Resource staff on administration of retirement benefits, as requested 
  • Organize time in advance so projects are completed on time and with appropriate content and organization 
  • Increase industry and job knowledge as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations and participation in other agency training offerings

Education & Experience:  

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred 
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the financial services industry is required
  • Prior experience as an Account Manager or in a similar capacity is highly preferred 
  • Life and Health insurance license is required, or must be obtained within 30 days of employment; must be maintained annually 
  • Series 6, 63 and/or 65 is preferred
