Role Overview
The Pricing & Cost Estimating Analyst is an internal/external customer facing position that is responsible for cost estimating and pricing commercial and military proposals. The position has an extensive amount of exposure to the overall business and is a key contributor on target capture teams. The position works closely with the senior leadership team and various functional teams such as engineering, procurement, business development, program management and operations.  The position supports strategic cost/pricing implementations, fact-findings, negotiations and DCAA/DCMA audits.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Estimate labor and or material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFP) data received from prospective customers.
  • Analyze bills of material and calculate production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data.
  • Ensures price proposals are prepared in accordance with FAR, CAS applicable laws and regulations
  • Responsible for documentation of standard financial analysis, which includes identifying inconsistencies 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and maintains a system for keeping track of tasks and priorities. 
  • Enjoys working in a teaming environment.
  • Makes recommendations on methods, procedures and techniques for pricing proposals.
  • Examines and analyzes cost data 
  • Participates in strategy meetings and provides input on cost related matters as required, including cost strategy for initial proposal and subsequent revisions


Preferred Qualifications:

  • General understanding of BoM structure, manufacturing cost flows, and application of various rates and factors
  • Exposure to government contracts
  • Ability to solve problems and schedule issues as well as adapt to schedule changes.

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
