Portfolio Manager I (Associate Relationship Manager)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for oversight of a commercial loan portfolio including client service, underwriting and closing activities, and internal servicing and monitoring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist Loan Officers with timely and accurate completion of commercial credit presentations, including analysis of appropriate data per credit policy, bank procedures, and regulatory requirements.  
  2. Oversee loan documentation process to ensure that loan documents are consistent with credit approval and are accurately prepared, including appropriate signatures, disclosures, credit authority, and supporting collateral documentation and perfection.
  3. Oversee/drive pre-closing and post-closing due diligence as required by Loan Policy, the loan approval, and/or other interests such as SBA or USDA.
  4. Monitor compliance with loan agreements by working with the Loan Officer and Clients to ensure timely receipt and review of financials, covenant compliance, and other loan agreement conditions.
  5. Serve as a back-up to the Loan Officers as appropriate, including attending Loan Committee, handling client service issues, and coordination/handling of loan closings.    
  6. Responsible for internal portfolio management processes including monitoring and performing appropriate action related to past dues and maturing loans, communicating with participant banks, and working with internal and external auditors.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Build relationships with other bank personnel to facilitate effective working relationships between credit administration and production.  Provide timely and effective responses to servicing needs.  
  2. Participates in bank and community events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  1. 2+ years of credit analysis, commercial, or other relevant banking experience. (5 Yrs for a II).
  2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
  3. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong math skills; ability to organize and analyze complex financial information.
  5. Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
