Billing Specialist

TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids, has an immediate opening for a Billing Specialist supporting our Transportation division. The primary responsibility of the Billing Specialist is to manage and execute the direct bill and non-pay process for TrueChoices and Truckers Service Team (TSC) accounts. This role will also be responsible for coordinating all accounts converting to direct bill.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Take incoming calls from clients to collect payments, as well as, make outbound calls to clients to collect on past due amounts
  • Manage direct bill accounts for TrueChoices
  • Complete direct bill reconciliation monthly
  • Coordinate and facilitate accounts converting from settlement deduct to direct bill
  • Contact converted drivers to educate on direct bill process and collect payment information
  • Process non-pays for TrueChoices accounts
  • Contact TrueChoices clients with non-payment status; process corresponding payments or cancellations
  • Document and update billing processes and procedures for the TrueChoices and TSC teams
  • Provide billing reports and updates to operations leaders
  • Assist with TSA non-pay compliance process
  • Maintain quality customer service with client on a daily basis
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information
  • Other duties as assigned to the position

Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College degree or coursework is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years customer service experience is required
  • Prior experience working with billing, accounts payable/receivable, or similar work experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, with the ability to learn and utilize other computer applications
