Mandate:
The Litigation Recovery Specialist is accountable for oversight and management of all assigned recovery accounts and assigned litigation accounts originated in the Transportation lines of business.  The Litigation Recovery Specialist follows sound business practices to maximize returns, while working to reduce the Bank’s loss exposure in high risk accounts.  Accountable for initiating contact with customers in an effort to a) collect the total outstanding legal claim balance or b) arrive at an approved settlement consistent with the goals and objectives of the Bank.  Accountable for initiating and managing the litigation process as required and approved to further drive recovery and further reduce the Bank’s loss exposure in high risk accounts.  The incumbent will make credit decisions/recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policy & Procedures.  This role provides prompt attention to currently outstanding deficiency balance accounts, and deteriorating risk situations while minimizing the Bank’s loan loss exposure.

Knowledge and Skills  

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a background in Business, Finance or Paralegal.

Knowledge/Skills:

•2 to 3  years Recovery
•2 to 3 years Litigation Case Management
•Demonstrated negotiation skills, analytical skills, and the ability to develop and make appropriate recommendations to management
•Effective time management and prioritization skills
•Ability to develop and manage customer and attorney relationships
•Must maintain a confident, flexible, and professional attitude in dealing with adversarial parties/situations
•Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, verbal, and written (including legal documents)
•Strong writing/proofreading skills for technical reporting requirement
•Self-starter; ability to work independently; attention to detail; accurate and well organized
•Effectiveness in working in a team environment
•Strong Problem solving ability
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, outlook)
•Basic knowledge of portfolio management and reporting requirements.
