Care Initiatives is now hiring a Manager of Healthcare Marketing & Social Media to join our Business Development Team!

Purpose of this position

The primary responsibility is to support business development consistent with Care Initiative’s mission, vision, and brand alignment. This person will build an online presence through creation and dissemination via multimedia outlets. Assist VP of Business Development and Regional Directors along with their community leaders to develop annual marketing plans executed monthly. Strategic brand promotion via digital and printed collateral along with social media campaigns.

Job Description

Support the promotion and growth of primary healthcare service lines, hospice and skilled nursing. Support post-acute transitions of care co-branding opportunities with current and future contracted partners like therapy, physicians, pharmacy, and ISNP. Manage marketing materials for all applicable referral sources: skilled, hospice, private, and long-term care. Promote and brand community events, healthcare associations, tradeshows, and annual sales meetings. Champion for special projects like grass-roots marketing, and campaigns for legislative support.

Job Duties:

Oversee social media accounts

  • Create a well-rounded social media content calendar including education, entertainment, community give back, and holiday observation.
  • Respond to social media reviews.
  • Monitor social media for negative reviews in order to mitigate negative public perception.

Oversee web presence

  • Monitor google reviews and respond to them promptly.
  • Assure search engine optimization to make sure our website is listed first when key word searches are performed by consumers.
  • Create geo-fencing advertisements to increase brand awareness among target audience.

Marketing/promotional materials

  • Assist with creation of new business development forms, flyers, brochures, etc
  • Assist with promotion of events, programming via multi-level communication with Care Initiatives’ contractors.
  • Create and distribute monthly observances calendar for marketing.
  • Create marketing materials and forms in line with corporate yearly sales plan.


  • Bachelor’s degree required, communications and marketing preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years healthcare sales and marketing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years social media creative content design and development.
  • Graphic arts background; proficiency with inDesign, Cava, Photoshop.
  • Remote position residing in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids (preferred).
  • Occasional travel required to support marketing events, sales and on-site meetings.
