Director, Major Gifts

Mercy Medical Center

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by developing support through annual and major gifts from donors for the mission of Mercy. This position has specific responsibility for donor appreciation events, publications and other promotional activities.

Job Duties
  • Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donor prospects in support of Mercy’s programs and services, annual and special fundraising campaigns.
  • Develops and implements annual giving within portfolio of individuals, corporations and foundations to increase donor retention.
  • Prepares appropriate reports to analyze methods and fundraising results.
  • Communicates regularly with donors on their investments and how they have impacted patients.
  • Co-Develops a Grateful Patient program which will require developing relationships with Mercy Medical Center staff.
  • Manages a dynamic portfolio of annual and major gift donors/prospects.
  • Recommends goals and budget for programs and appeals this position oversees.
  • Helps strengthen the awareness of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation by volunteering, serving on committees and/or boards within the hospital and the community.
  • Co-Leads the process of determining the acceptance of in-kind gifts to Mercy.
  • Serves as the liaison for the Plumb Heart Center, Family Caregivers Center and DeWolf Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job- specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Professional Experience
  • Minimum of five years of formal fundraising experience-required
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • Master's Degree - Preferred
