The VP/GM of Residential Markets provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to establish the Residential business unit as a thriving ImOn Communications Division. As VP/GM, you will play a lead role in growing the business through supporting and advising your local team and working with corporate and other market resources. You will work with the CEO in developing and driving the strategy to acquire, retain, and grow residential customers. You are the market champion. You will work with a matrix of teams in and out of market to support local outreach to city and state government, utilities, and organizations.

 

The VP/GM has P/L responsibility for the Residential markets and provides general oversight of our residential revenue development, sales pipeline, product management, customer installation and service and marketing and brand awareness activities. This position establishes and ensures that the company has the operational controls, administrative, reporting procedures, and the people systems in place to effectively grow the division and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives and culture of ImOn.

 

ImOn’s go-to-market strategy is grassroots focused and dependent on joint programs and events with local partners, your role will be visible in the community. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strategic perspective on the business, leadership in a highly matrixed organization, and the ability to identify, build and cultivate working partnerships.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and implementing the ImOn brand and product awareness strategy in Residential.
  • Develop and implement Residential markets business development strategy.
  • Conduct market research in order to provide insight and analysis about Residential markets.
  • Drive the Residential markets to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Manage Residential Markets P/L. Develop the annual budget for the Residential markets.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for Residential.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure including systems, processes, and personnel, to accommodate the growth of Residential markets.
  • Promote continuous improvement.
  • Manage the sales through installation process for the Residential Markets.
  • Ensure that employees are trained in job functions, task procedures, work standards and proper safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with management team to develop fiber footprint growth strategy
  • Provide day-to-day leadership that reflects the ImOn mission and core values.
  • Drive and measure effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the division.
  • Build and develop a high performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team not currently in place.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment where team members can become wildly successful. Provide mentoring, coaching and support of team.
  • Set production goals ensuring that best safety practices are followed.
  • Perform detailed job checks to assure company standards are met. Manages employee performance and accountability.
  • Develop and drive residential automation and process efficiency strategy, collaborating with cross functional partners to ensure synergy across ImOn.
  • Actively engage employees in Catalytic Coaching, reward employees, and administer conflict resolution and corrective discipline up to and including termination if needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction and Outside Plant, Customer Service, Product Marketing, PR, and other teams in order to build and sustain a healthy local business.
  • Represent the firm with clients and business partners.
  • Be the face of ImOn Communications to local press, elected, influencers and business leaders in your market.

 

Requirements

We are looking for people with:

  • MBA, JD or equivalent qualification with emphasis on business strategy.
  • 15+ years of relevant, progressive experience in the telecommunications industry with 5+ years of strategic leadership experience or Senior Executive is preferred.
  • Experience working with or leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders in developing and executing strategies to deliver business results.
  • Strong in-market local relationships with city and community leaders.
  • Global mindset and ability to think across disciplines, industries, cultures and scenarios.
  • Experience managing P/L and developing budgets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills; strong public speaking capabilities.
  • A conscientious team player.
  • A high level of professionalism while remaining positive and embracing change.
  • Be employee and customer focused.
  • A strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications products including Internet, cable, IPTV and phone, previous experience is desirable.
  • Must have employee management experience with knowledge of applicable state and federal employee laws.
  • Must be willing to obtain at least the first Covid-19 vaccination shot within 2 weeks of hire.
