Quality Engineer:
- Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
- Establish standard work practices, procedures and methods to reduce process variation and ensure that processes have demonstrated stability and acceptable capacity.
- Diagnose and solve manufacturing process problems, using appropriate techniques.
- Implement changes in work practices, procedures and methods that would result in permanent, overall and continuous improvement in productivity, quality and cost.
- Perform equipment utilization and capability studies.
- Conduct testing to verify that operation and controls are adequate through evaluation of production trial runs.
- Provide training on fundamentals of SPC for production personnel.
- Use engineering principles to provide engineering support to customers as required.
- Investigate customer complaints, including identification of the work center that originated the problem.
- Facilitate corrective action and initiate preventative action with PMX personnel or by on-site customer visits.
- Complete internal process audits to determine system capabilities to meet customer requirements.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors' degree (preferred) in an engineering discipline, preferably in Metallurgy or Material Science, and/or five years of Quality/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Skills:
- Strategic business orientation with strong customer focus.
- Data analysis and charting skills.
- Familiarity with statistical and root cause analysis tools or equivalent methods for problem solving.
- Understanding of process flow of an order from receipt of inquiry to shipment.
- Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
