Compliance Technician

This position is responsible for building, configuring, coordinating, and testing components/systems associated with research, product development, marketing, sales, and manufacturing initiatives to prove design acceptability and obtain external compliance certifications.


  • Determines compliance by establishing compliance test standards; conducting and witnessing tests; performing diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; performing forensic analysis of failures; troubleshooting failures; supervising sub-contractors.

  • Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes; initiating engineering change notices.
    Prepares compliance reports by collecting and summarizing measurement data and trends.

  • Assists the Technical Directors for development of test strategies. Develop test plans.

  • Coordinate with external laboratories for development of test procedures.

  • Assists engineers and designers as they create, modify, and test products and processes.

  • Assists in product design, development, and production.

  • Provides testing input during design and development phase.

  • Inspects products and testing processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement.

  • Creates prototypes of equipment.

  • Builds and sets up equipment.

  • Prepares and conducts experiments.

  • Conducts tests and collects data.

  • Calculates or records results during experiments.

  • Coordinates with external, 3rd party laboratories for quotation and scheduling.

  • Provides oversight for external, 3rd party compliance testing.

  • Coordinates witnesses for observed testing.



  • Associate’s degree in engineering field or equivalent experience.


  • Two years’ relevant experience.


  • The person performing this work must be able to sit, stand, and bend at various times while reviewing the computer hardware items. 

  • Ability to lift (up to 50lbs), transport and inspect products and effectively use the computer on a daily basis is needed


  • This position requires frequent (≥50%) travel to third-party laboratories for coordination and oversight of testing.


  • Must be able to demonstrate experience in multitasking to meet several simultaneous project milestones up to and including completion of several projects.

  • Works well both independently and in a team environment and is willing to change priorities as needed.

  • Current valid US Driver’s license with good driving record.
