Accessibility Services Coordinator

Coe College is seeking candidates for the position of Accessibility Services Coordinator.  This position will partner with students, parents, faculty, staff, and other internal and external constituencies of the College to provide academic counseling and to create a welcoming and accessible environment for students who experience varying levels of abilities, through programs, education, and facilitation of successful student outcomes. This position is responsible for implementation and evaluation of programs and services to meet the accommodation needs of students with disabilities, and will provide support for the academic needs of students enrolled in the TRIO/Academic Achievement Program (AAP). The Accessibility Services Coordinator also serves as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator for the institution. This is a 10 month full-time, 2 months part-time, benefit eligible position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, rehabilitation or other appropriate field required. Master’s degree in education, college student personnel, accessibility services, rehabilitation, or other field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accessibility and accommodation process required.
  • Ability to demonstrate the understanding of privilege and equity and their role in accommodations along with specific recommendations for reducing bias in both processes and policies required.
  • Academic coaching and skill development experience preferred.
  • Experience in working with TRIO programs and students of diverse backgrounds preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding the laws of FERPA, HIPPA, ADA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 required.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs required.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy required.
