Position Summary
The College of Education seeks a collaborative, results-oriented, and ethical administrator to serve as the first Coordinator of the new Ed.D. Program. The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree is designed for educators seeking a terminal doctoral degree to practice upper-level leadership in PK-20 educational settings. Based on the scholar-practitioner model and problem-based pedagogy, this program blends advanced preparation in the pragmatic knowledge and skills needed to improve educational practices and policies.
The Coordinator will provide oversight and direction of the newly-approved practice doctorate (Ed.D.) with subtracks in Higher Education and PK12 Leadership. This position involves creating and implementing program marketing, enrollment management, and evaluation, while advising and teaching first-year doctoral students enrolled in the Ed.D. program.
This is a two year specified term appointment, with the possibility of reappointment.
Qualifications
Education or combination of equivalent education and relevant work experience required:
Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely-related field
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience with and knowledge of operations and application of academic standards and policies
  • Ability to coordinate effective learning experiences
  • A minimum of three full-time years experience as a school or University administrator or educator
  • Evidence of fostering inclusive and equitable environments
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to advance and implement new ideas
  • Experience with program management and assessment
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain the University Driving Policy requirements
  • Demonstrated success teaching graduate and/or professional students 
Desirable Qualifications:
  • A terminal degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, or closely related area
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated success developing graduate and/or professional curricula
  • Demonstrated success teaching in online contexts
Salary: Commensurate with experience
