The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking an experienced Audiologist to provide clinical instruction to Audiology graduate students and provide direct service in our Wendell Johnson Speech & Hearing Clinic.

Responsibilities include:
  • provide clinical instruction to audiology graduate student clinicians in a clinical setting which provides routine diagnostic services, aural (re)rehabilitation including hearing aid selection, fitting and follow up care, and hearing loss prevention services
  • provide clinical instruction to audiology graduate student clinicians in community outreach events such as health fairs and hearing screening
  • provide direct patient care in the audiology clinic.

Education Required:
A clinical doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) or master’s degree in audiology from an accredited program.

Experience Required:
  • At least nine months post-graduate clinical audiology experience at a working level proficiency.
  • Current, valid license in audiology to practice or eligible in the State of Iowa.
  • Current, valid license in hearing aid dispensing to practice or eligible in the State of Iowa.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated at the working level proficiency. 
  • Excellent time-management skills, and the ability to accurately perform detail-oriented work, as demonstrated at the working level proficiency.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in clinical instruction of audiology graduate students, demonstrated at the working level proficiency.
