JOB GOAL: Evenings 5:00-9:00pm

Under limited supervision, the Learning Facilitator is responsible for assisting the development and facilitating the content of a new Operator Training Certificate for adults, ages 18+ and ensuring all students meet the objectives of the course. The facilitator will have knowledge of tools, skills, and resources used in a modern manufacturing environment, including but not limited to torque wrenches, tensioning devices, measuring tools, and related devices. The facilitator will provide exemplary customer service through positive class interaction, meeting the participant needs, maintaining a clean, neat, and inviting learning experience while having a positive and upbeat attitude.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Successfully attend and facilitate the Operator Training Certificate classes
  • Assist with development of Operator Training Certificate core technical classes
  • Facilitate an outstanding participant experience by giving exemplary customer service.
  • Greet and welcome participants.
  • Effectively communicate with participants and Continuing Education Staff.
  • Clean and straighten classroom before and after each class.
  • Answer questions and provide resources as appropriate to participants.
  • Deliver course content and ensure that learning outcomes are met.
  • Complete all required paperwork as requested by Continuing Education Staff.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching utilizing art equipment and other types of close visual work.  Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Interest in adult education
  • Experience in a modern manufacturing environment
  • Experience with common advanced manufacturing tools (torque wrenches, measurement tools, and computer systems)
  • Experience with basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry policies, procedures, and terms
  • High school diploma required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
  • Four year degree preferred, not required
  • Iowa teacher license preferred, not required
  • Substitute License, Para License or working towards an education degree preferred, not required
  • Manufacturing industry credentials such as NIMS, AWS, etc preferred, not required
