GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, performs student support and general secretarial work at the administrative/supervisory levels, such as coordinating Kirkwood Weblive and Online self-paced classes, coordinating continuing education activities, composing routine correspondence, assisting with student assessments, provide general software support to students, maintain records and provide information that requires knowledge of policies and procedures.  A degree of independent judgment and cooperation with other college employees and departments is expected.  The individual must possess the ability to work as a member of a team providing a high level of customer service to walk-in traffic at the Center.  This position may require working up to two evenings per week and other work hours as assigned to accommodate the Center's hours of operations. 


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as a receptionist for the Iowa County Center in Williamsburg.
  • Serve as site coordinator of the building providing customer service in person and on phone.
  • Assist in monitoring online, placement and other college exams.
  • Assist with general software support to student working on computers.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

  • Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form.  Request clarification when needed.
  • Knowledge of office methods and procedures, office equipment, and telephone techniques.  Type at an acceptable level. 
  • Work efficiently and effectively in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
  • Must maintain confidentiality concerning all Center operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required. Strong customer service and computer skills required.
