Job Information:

  • Record receipts into GWAEA accounting system.Review for appropriate account numbers and amounts.
  • Post journal entries for all departments; review for accuracy, investigate outstanding journal entries.
  • Release and post print shop and bus trip monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet analysis and invoices monthly.Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare bus trip reports and invoices monthly.Prepare quarterly pay busing invoices.
  • Prepare facilities usage and crossing guard invoices.
  • Run aging list and investigate outstanding invoices; contact customers regarding payment.
  • Bookkeeper for Kingston Stadium; includes KEV Student Activity Fund accounting.
  • Prepare invoices for open enrollment, special education, and various other invoices.
  • Prepare quarterly motor fuel tax refund claim.
  • Review District Contracts and Agreements; update spreadsheet, investigate if outstanding.
  • Responsible for fiscal year-end procedures and understanding GAAP rules for accruals.
  • Thoroughly understand Cash Handling Procedures; train others in the District.
  • Assist Accounting Manager with categorical reports and documentation requirements.
  • Prepare documents for scanning; both AP and AR.
  • Provide support for others within the department as necessary; learn additional job duties to backup team members, including the BSO purchasing system and Asset Works.
  • Update and maintain Desk Procedures manual.Adhere to Segregation of Duties and Internal Controls outlined in the Accounting Department.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in operation of 10-key calculator.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and display critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Eight (8) hours per day.  Twelve (12) months.
  • $15.15/hour

  • 2-year accounting degree and accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and governmental accounting principles preferred.

The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet.  The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday.  The employee will frequently work in different areas of the building including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing.  The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures.
