Status: Part-time, TBD up to 20hr. / week

FLSA: Non-Exempt


St. Paul's is a historic church being made new. In the last three years, we've raised over $4 million to refresh our building. We are a diverse, multi-ethnic church with a growing African-immigrant population. We are located in the heart of a vibrant metropolitan community. St. Paul's seeks a Director of Children’s Ministry to provide effective leadership for our ministry for children from birth through fourth grade.

Summary of Responsibilities

This staff position is responsible for providing vision and direction for the discipleship ministries of this congregation for children (birth through grade 4), and their families, as it relates to the family’s primary role in faith formation. 


This position will provide support to and work in partnership with the entire pastoral team, the ministry area staff, and lay leadership as appropriate. This includes regular worship leadership and building nurturing relationships between children and their families.


Essential Functions:

·Provide creative leadership and vision for children’s ministry, in collaboration with other staff and Children’s Discipleship Committee

·Facilitate coordination of all children’s ministries 

·Meet regularly with the St. Paul’s Youth Ministry Director to coordinate the overall ministry from Early Childhood to grade 12 and beyond

·Work collaboratively with pastors and youth director and Children’s Discipleship Committee in selecting curriculum

·Work with Director of Communications for timely communication to families, congregation, and community in order grow disciples of Jesus Christ

·Responsible for computerized rosters for classes, teams, etc. within our ACS database


  • Set an example of the importance of community worship through participation in Sunday morning/ special worship services


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. (i.e.,education/ religion/ communication/ ministry)

  • Experience in working with children from early childhood though grade four

  • Leadership experience as part of successful team
