Director, Project Management For the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Programs

Position Summary:
The University of Iowa and Iowa Testing Programs seeks an individual to lead project management for the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (SASP). This position will be responsible for operationalizing the statewide assessment of student progress as defined by Iowa House File 2235.  The position will work closely with the school districts of Iowa, the Iowa Department of Education and the selected delivery vendor for the assessment program.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Education, Assessment, Research or a related field, or combination of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate’s experience in meeting the requirements for this position.  
  • Extensive (typical experience is 5 - 7 years) experience in program management for large-scale assessment programs
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, consult with and evaluate multiple individuals, internal and external to an organization, contributing to the implementation of multiple operational assessment programs.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including development of proposals and negotiation of contracts with external agencies, are required.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Professional certification in program or project management.
  • PhD in relevant field
