Job Information:

The University of Iowa Office Of Admissions is seeking candidates for the position of On-Campus Programs Coordinator. The primary purpose of the On-Campus Programs Coordinator position is to implement student recruitment/outreach events and activities as assigned, with a specific emphasis for on-campus events, special group visits, web-based events and student panels; assist with advising STAR student volunteer organization as well as the Tour Guide program. Required qualifications: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge of and ability to apply communication techniques (written and verbal) and relationship building skills to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency in the ability to use office support tools available at the desktop (e.g. word processing, email, presentation software, and spreadsheets).
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in the ability to exhibit ethical behavior in diverse situations, adhering to educational professional conduct, and applying organizational operating principles and practices.
  • The ability to move and transport materials up to 40 lbs. is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain UI Fleet Safety Standards are required.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required.

Desired qualifications:
  • Related administrative and program experience (typically 6 months to 1 year) is desired.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of university policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge and experience within the last 5 years in admissions work, educational agency serving college bound populations, or student service programs (student life, residence hall services, and student organizations).
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the nature, aims, and organizational workings of a college or university.
  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge and experience with training and monitoring of outreach/recruitment programs.
