Position Summary"
Applications are being accepted for the full-time, year-round position of Associate Director, Operations & Career Coaching. This position serves as a member of the Berry Career Institute programming and support team and is responsible for developing, promoting, and assessing activities that enable students to explore, refine, and advance academic and professional interests and obtain successful outcomes upon graduation. Job duties also include:
  • Internship Administration: Advises students throughout the application process and internship. Lead internship tracking and documentation processes.
  • Career Coaching:  Conducts one-on-one and group advising for students who are unsure of their major or career interests.
  • Leadership Development Program Administration: Serves as coordinator for the Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Distinctive Service (LEADS) program. Major activities include recruitment of students, creation of the master schedule, event planning, and organization of the annual Chicago career tour.
  • Technology: Leads employer/job board software (Handshake) implementations and delivery to ensure maximum use of technology.
  • Career Assistant (CA) Management: Selects, trains, and manages student office assistants.
  • Office Administration: Oversees efficient office operations and ensures customer service needs are met at all times.
  • Campus Liaison: Partners with campus divisions and faculty to coordinate guest speakers and support academic/career programs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in an academic or professional field.

Preferred Skills:
Ability to take personal/professional initiative, with strong task orientation and commitment to follow-through; knowledge of and dedication to liberal arts education; proactive attitude toward student capacities and potential; and excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Previous advising, training, project management, and process improvement experience strongly preferred.

Working Conditions:
Work performed primarily while seated in an office environment.  Some travel between offices and buildings using stairs is required. All requirements are subject to change over time, with reasonable modifications made to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
