Job Information:

The University Of Iowa is seeking an Assistant Director, International Evaluation that will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating international graduate and undergraduate student admission application data and information. The Assistant Director will make routine decisions based on established criteria, and counsel and advise prospective, current, and former students, parents, faculty, and staff concerning admission policies, procedures, application materials, and transfer credit issues. Required qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience evaluating international records at the college/university level.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead a team at an extensive proficiency level, ensuring that they are on board and unified; learns and utilizes special talents and work styles of team members.
  • Typically 1 year administrative or program experience.
  • Experience leading and/or managing a diverse team.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency in communication techniques (including excellent written and verbal communication skills) and relationship building skills that enables the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrates an extensive proficiency in decision making and critical thinking.

Desired qualifications:
  • Experience evaluating admission application materials including evaluation of credit and/or international academic records.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge in Visa processing and basic knowledge of I20 processing.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of University policies and procedures.
