Job Information:

The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business is seeking a creative professional for the position of Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. This person will develop, implement and evaluate strategies to engage alumni in the life of the college. Responsibilities include building relationships, coordinating events, and communicating to the college’s more than 50,000 living alumni. The director will work closely with current student leaders, alumni in key geographic locations/companies, various alumni and advisory boards, and university administrators. Responsibilities will require some travel and time outside the 8-5 workday.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable (1-3 years) experience in event planning and/or working with constitutent bases; Extensive experience maintaining productive, long-term relationships with external audiences and partners; Extensive experience developing communication materials for events and campaigns; Working ability to plan, estimate, and execute events including all logistics; and must possess a valid driver’s license and meet/maintain standards of the Fleet Safety Program.

Desired qualifications:  Experience with institutions of higher education is a plus. Work with schools of business is highly desired; Working knowledge of and experience dealing with issues that require confidentiality; and Working knowledge of social media channels and their operation.

Applicant screening will begin immediately. Salary is $43,000 – 56,000.
