Johnson County Sheriff's Office seeks a part-time Transport Driver to transport inmates, juveniles and committed respondents to and from jail and other institutions under the direction of the Jail Administrator.

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Operates a motor vehicle to ensure safe and secure transport of inmates, committed respondents, and juvenile detainees.
• Assists deputy sheriffs in picking up and transporting respondents for involuntary commitments to mental health institutions.
• Maintains daily log of trip times, locations, and expenses.  Compiles reports for supervisory review as required.
• Files records and assists in Record’s office.
• Attends work-related meetings, training, conferences, and seminars.
• Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreement, and safety practices.
• Attends work regularly at the designated place and time.

High school graduate or equivalent. Previous experience in law enforcement or security preferred. Valad Class C CDL with passenger endorsement within 60 days of hire. Must pass a background investigation.  Safe driving record and insurable under County liability coverage.
