Job Information:

The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation Department is seeking a Dispatcher II to join their team.  This position will be 3rd-shift, working 7:40pm to 6:10am with a work week rotating every 6 months.

Job duties include: Count, reconcile, and consolidate cashier work shift revenue and coordinate scheduled bank deposits.

Schedule full-time and part-time Parking Cashier work shifts (includes 14 separate cashiered parking locations which total 450-475 work shifts each week).

Respond to telephone, radio, and direct public contact. Assign appropriate personnel and resources to resolve issues in the field. Monitor centralized parking software (facility counts and transactions for 16,000 parking spaces). Monitor various camera systems.

Create, monitor, and maintain records and reports.

Interview, hire, train, and monitor part-time and temporary merit employee base of 160-200 employees. Provide support and information to student employee base.

Coordinate personnel and resources during events (including snow removal, football and basketball games, wrestling meets, concerts, etc). This requires driving a University Vehicle and in the field duties.

Other duties: Ensure office and money counting areas are secured. Contact outside vendors and service contract agents. Requisition equipment and supplies. Answer customer questions.

Inform Parking Facilities Operation Manager of unusual situations and issues. Participate in meetings. Request employee disciplinary action when needed.

Provide back up maintenance duties as required (includes snow removal, minor parking equipment repair, and in the field monitoring of activities). These duties require driving a University Vehicle.

Any combination of clerical education or experience and/or college or university level course work which is equivalent to three years of full-time employment.
Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Fleet Safety Standards.
