Position Summary:

The Claims Associate plays a key role in our agency, as they assist with the servicing of both personal and commercial lines claims.  More specifically, they provide administrative and clerical support to the Claims team, while also providing customer service to clients.  This position files claims with the appropriate insurance company, performs periodic status checks of pending claims, and maintains open and closed claim files in accordance with agency procedures.  They also assist clients by giving basic instructions on how to proceed with their claims and by responding to service requests or inquiries throughout the claims process.  Successful candidates will enjoy helping others and working in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and have some experience in a clerical and/or administrative support role.
  • Previous insurance and/or claims experience is preferred.
  • Property & Casualty insurance licenses are required upon hire (if not already possessed).
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and possess the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to maintain accuracy in work.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively using both written and verbal methods.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including the ability to utilize agency management systems, Microsoft programs, and the Internet.
  • Must have the ability to utilize basic office equipment, such as a computer, telephone, printer, copier, and fax machine.
