Customer Service Team Leader

Job Information:

This leadership position oversees and directs all activities of our service-focused retail grocery and prepared foods store. The Team Leader will actively train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate team members to role model exceptional customer focused service while promoting New Pioneer’s brand and product lines.

Working Environment:
The Customer Service Team Leader works in a retail grocery store, prepared foods, and office environment. This can involve frequent and extended periods of time assisting customers, overseeing and directing team members, and performing all tasks associated with the center store (check stands, grocery, specialty, and produce) to ensure quality customer service and team member safety and productivity. There will be extended periods of standing, walking, repetitive arm and hand activity (cash register operation), frequent bending, lifting and carrying, as well as general computer, phone, and office requirements. Extensive direct and interactive communication with customers, administrative support, and team members on the retail service floor and prepared foods areas will be a daily occurrence.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An Associate, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a grocery or retail store environment in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Supervisory experience - scheduling, teaching, training, directing, and evaluating.
  • Demonstrated accuracy in the handling of cash and balancing procedures. 
  • Financial Literacy – ability to read and understand financial statements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook 
  • Communications Skills - ability to read, write and speak English to ensure clear instructions and comprehension.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments and work as a constructive team member.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 – 50 pounds on occasion during a shift.

This skill based position requires a committed schedule to include opening, midday, closing, weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis.

The Customer Service Team Leader is a full time position with a benefits package.
