Technical Services Technician

Job Information:

As a Technical Services Technician, you will be joining a team dedicated to providing their expertise in support of Crystal Group’s customers’ missions.  We are a fast paced team focused on responsiveness to customers’ needs which include the following activities:
  • Phone and email support of Crystal Group’s products including x86 based hardware, switches, firewalls, routers, monitors, and other operation specific hardware.
  • Diagnose, repair/upgrade, and testing of Crystal Group’s products in accordance with documented processes, instructions, and procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify potential underlying causes.
  • Documentation of support activities to meet requirements of Crystal Group and Customer.
  • Ability to read print drawings and apply instructions.
  • Vendor interaction to research and resolve questions.
  • Travel to customer facilities on short notice.
  • Participation in departmental and company projects and initiatives.

To be a successful member of the team, we expect the following skillset to be a minimum:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3+ Years of hardware experience with a solid understanding of BIOS and UEFI based systems.
  • 3+ Years in a customer support role.
  • 3+ Years experience installing and configuring various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and VMWare.
  • Able to read, understand, and apply information in print drawings, work instructions, and database repositories.
  • Strong aptitude and desire to understand underlying causes.
  • Able to diagnose and validate results against customer reported concerns.
  • An understanding that documentation is an essential component of completing a Customer Support effort.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of IP based protocols and the implementation of switches, firewalls, and routers.
  • Able to travel on Same Day notice. (Travel typically does not exceed, but is not limited to, 25%.)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and participate in assisted lifts up to 50 pounds/person.
  • Possess a valid passport or be able to acquire a passport within 6 months of hire.

Citizen of the USA is required.  Education may be substituted for experience.
