GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Maintenance Operations works collaboratively with the Department of Facilities & Security, as well as College administration, faculty, staff, and students on building maintenance, building automation, energy management, operational inventory and work order completion. Position reports to the VP of Facilities & Security to carry out the operation mission of the college.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:                  
  • Provide the leadership and strategic direction for building electrical mechanical, automation and inventory operations.
  • Serve as the liaison between facilities and other departments throughout the institution.  Promote positive interaction with departments and coordinate their needs with services.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of short-term and long-term goals and objectives which are consistent with the goals of the Facilities and Security Department.
  • Oversee operational expenditures in collaboration with the overall department budget
  • Supervise subordinates in the administration of routine activities of Facilities services.
  • Develop procedures which successfully provide efficient and effective services
  • Responsible for collection of necessary technical data and preparation of justification to support budget approval.
  • Responsible for training and development of skilled work force, scheduling workload and ensuring a competent work force.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with all city, state and federal regulation concerning environmental protection, building codes, and regular inspections.
  • Liaison with local agencies, companies and contractors and members of the academic community on technical matters affecting facilities management.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:                        
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work.  Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
                         
Associate degree in facilities operations or related field
Supervision experience of Facilities related departments.
At least five years of recent and relevant full time work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in facilities operations/administration or related field.
Diverse facilities maintenance supervision experience of 3 or more related departments.
At least seven years of recent and relevant full time work experience.
