Position Summary: 

Reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board, the Director supports the overall mission of the daycare operation, through the ongoing daily administration and supervision of the program, staff, curriculum, and services in accordance with the state and daycare policies. 

 

Essential Functions:

The Director may be assigned one or more duties. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

 

  • Responsible for all facets of Daycare enrollment growth to include building relationships with community and business leaders, organizing and executing community marketing events to drive awareness and enrollment. Effectively engaging prospective families through both in-person and virtual center tours.
  • Leads new customers through an engaging, seamless registration process and introduction to the center.
  • Proactively focuses on customer satisfaction and promptly addresses customer concerns.
  • Responsible for the full cycle of operations and quality assurance to include ensuring the physical center environment and all health/safety standard operating procedures are always full compliance with local and state licensing regulations.
  • Responsible for all center policies and compliance to include but not limited to policies regarding fees, enrollment, discipline, nutrition, health and safety, staff ratio, activity program, and parental participation. 
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruitment, selection of center staff to include employee onboarding and preemployment process to include background, certifications and licenses to meet DHS and state requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children through the management of center employees to include adequate staffing/ratios, disciplinary and supervisory activities up to and not limited to providing impactful feedback based on observation that motivates, recognizes success, and encourages development of staff and children.
  • Responsible for curriculum reviews, conducting engaging team meetings to communicate important information, set direction and state expectations, building high performing staff members, foster accountability and emphasizing safety and family satisfaction as the highest priority. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and auditing all regulatory compliance documentation to include child files, compliance documentation i.e., employee licensure, attendance and incident report records and proof of meeting governmental regulations to ensure passing of annual facilities inspection. 
  • Identifies opportunities and takes action to maximize savings and efficiencies in business operations.
  • Organizes and coordinates facilities maintenance, technology support and other vendor relationships
  • Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
  • Provide direct care in classrooms as needed to ensure ratios are met.
  • Abides by and upholds Bright Star Daycare Center’s quality of service standards. 
  • Regularly attends/participates in team/departmental/and company meetings and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:

 

  •    Minimum 3 Years previous hands-on experience in child-care or preschool setting required ( or  in supervisory or management role.) 
  •   Good leadership experience. 
  •    A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  •    Ability to build relationships with families and staff and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand.
  •    Outstanding customer service skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively
  •     Budget and financial accountability with revenue generation experience if possible.    
  •     Detailed oriented, results driven with the ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Good analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential.
  •      Computer skills to include typing minimum.  
  • Ability to exercise the highest level of confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and    children.
  •     Flexible and adaptable, willing, and able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities. 
  •     Must have the ability to work independently as well as in groups and team and the ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance.
  • Have no non-correctable deficiency in normal vision; have no hearing impairment that would interfere with using a normal telephone and/or working other communication equipment.

 

Education Requirements: 

The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements: 

 

  • Ability to meet state minimum age requirements for position. 
  • Certificate, diploma, degree or equivalent experience  in Human Services, Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field required Or  meet DHS licensing requirements for site supervisor or center director.( This can be discuss with us)
  • Valid, in good standing State Certification Required with the ability to maintain CEU’s for ongoing certification.
  • Ability to pass background and drug test.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

Occasionally:    Must have the ability to lift, carry and balance up to 10 pounds. 

 

Frequently:     Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time,

 

Constantly:     Possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition. Good manual dexterity, typing wpm 30.

Hand and Eye coordinator with ability to decipher between different colors and patterns. 

 

Equipment Operated: 

The individual in this position must be familiar with using the following equipment to perform the essential functions of this job. The following equipment operated is provided as a general guide and is not inclusive of all equipment used during the scope of employment.

 

Occasionally:     Hole-punch, calculator, fax machine, copy/scanning machine. 

 

Frequently:    Printer, clock, Camera. 

 

Constantly:     Computer, Telephone Systems; Mobile Device.
