4Cs Community Coordinated Child Care

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director has overall strategic and operational responsibility for 4Cs Community Coordinated Child Care staff, programs and execution of its mission. The Executive Director is an influential manager with the ability to lead and motivate their team within the organization as well as collaborate and work alongside other local nonprofit agencies building and maintaining sustainable, reciprocal relationships.

S/he is responsible for developing and monitoring a strong budget for the organization, understanding the importance of fundraising and being fiscally sound. The Executive Director understands the importance of advocating for the underserved in the community and manages the organization accordingly. Supervisory Duties The Executive Director supervises the organization’s key staff members, including the Program Coordinators for Homes Ties Child Care Center, the Food Program, Provider Services, as well as administrative staff.

The executive director plays a key role in all agency programs, establishing goals, motivating staff and ensuring the agency’s mission is delivered through its employees and programs. Employment Classification: Full Time, Exempt Status
Key Responsibilities 
Strategic Planning and Agency Direction
  • Objectively review agency programs to determine if the needs of the clients are being met and that agency goals and objectives are being maintained.
  • Oversee business processes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote the values of the agency to partners within the community at local, state and national levels. Work to build and maintain relationships with local community agencies.
  • Promote the advancement of the agency using electronic and social media marketing.
Agency Management
  • Oversee the management of all agency programs to ensure fiscal resiliency and adherence to state regulations.
  • Lead and inspire staff, providing guidance and support, ongoing feedback and fostering teamwork.
  • Hire and train staff, identifying ways to develop leadership within the organization at all levels.
  • Provide a positive workplace culture that motivates and supports a diverse staff.
  • Communicate 4Cs vision and strategic plan to the key stakeholders, including staff.
Fiscal Responsibility
  • Maintain accounting procedures and budget analysis in accordance with standard accounting practices.
  • Create and maintain reports in conjunction with specific agency programs to track viability and project sustainability.
  • Schedule and facilitate preparation of an annual audit.
  • Increase the financial stability of the agency, continually looking for new funding sources.
  • Nurture and sustain relationships with private donors as well as other funding sources.
  • Execute an annual fundraising plan.
  • Research and write grants for program implementation, looking for diverse funding sources.
Community Advocacy
  • Seek out and maintain local partnerships
  • Attend community network and resource meetings to represent the agency in a positive manner.
  • Create and maintains positive relationships with local leaders.
  • Serve as the agency’s primary liaison between the Board of Directors and agency staff, providing staff support to all board standing and ad hoc committees.
  • Work to actively recruit board members, identify needs and develop an orientation program to ensure that board members remain active participants and effective advocates.
Qualifications 
The Executive Director must be an educated, experienced leader working to maintain the integrity of the agency while at the same time, building new agency partnerships, identifying new funding sources and expanding programs. It is essential that the Executive Director be innovative, visionary, as well as flexible and creative.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, social work or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Experience in management and staff supervision. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation experience. ‐ Demonstrate leadership, entrepreneurial abilities and team building. 
  • Previous experience writing and maintaining both private and public grants 
  • Initiative and perseverance. 
  • Fiscal responsibility in relation to creating and maintaining a budget and fundraising. ‐ Familiarity with local community needs and other community service agencies. 
Work Schedule 
Typically Monday through Friday, evenings and weekends as needed and programs require. The position generally requires a 40‐45 hour work week, although more hours may be required depending on staff needs.
