GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Successful candidate will assist with environmental, safety, and health (EHS) responsibilities to help with compliance needs by navigating OSHA (and other federal agencies) regulations and working with an online safety software.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Become familiar with Kirkwood’s online safety data sheet (SDS) hub and chemical inventory system (training will be provided)
- Assist with data entry into CampusOptics
- Perform other related work duties as assigned
- Become knowledgeable of OSHA’s Hazard Communication (HazCom) standard (training will be provided).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Frequent (66-80%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
- Background in EHS, safety, or a science-related field
- Knowledge of OSHA’s HazCom standard.
- Knowledge of how to read/understand a SDS.
- Proficiency in various office and spreadsheet software including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to learn other software programs.
