Operations Coordinator - Agricultural Sciences and Hospitality Arts

The operations coordinator manages day-to-day activities to ensure the department is operating efficiently, assists with management/administrative tasks, and has operational control of a range of projects. May work on assignments related to project development and management initiatives, internal operating procedures, business processes, and policies.

The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

  • Assist in the planning, development, and coordination of course schedules/building. 
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all reports and studies that are required from the department.
  • Support and coordinate department events. 
  • Monitor facilities, equipment, training, and materials to meet the needs of the instructional programs.
  • Assist with inventory of equipment/supplies and purchasing.
  • Assist with budgeting and finance operations within the department.
  • Assist with enrollment management for the department.
  • Cooperate with other departments and offices in the college to foster communications and services to meet the needs of students and staff.
  • Assist in curriculum and program revisions. 
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
  • Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community served.
  • Be a self-motivated, energetic and creative individual with proven leadership, planning and administrative skills.
  • Ability to assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.
  • Possess excellent conceptual and planning skills and be able to relate well with other professional educators within the college and at other institutions.
  • Possess knowledge of program trends that enable leading the department to meet the emerging educational needs.

  • Establish and maintain good team working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators and general public.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Two years’ experience in an educational setting
  • Two years’ experience in a postsecondary education setting
  • Experience in an operations capacity
  • Knowledge of project management techniques or project management experience.
