Johnson County Ambulance Service seeks a full-time Billing Coder.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Under supervision, performs tasks which may be routine and repetitive, but are usually not readily learned and require some independent judgement and policy interpretation. Reviewing daily run reports to assign reason/condition codes and service level codes.This position will interact with clients and insurance companies both in person and/or over the telephone to inform them of basic departmental policies and procedures, or determines the proper person to whom to refer them for assistance.

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent AND one year clerical experience required preferably in a medical office/clinic setting OR any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Knowledge of medical billing practice preferred.
Special requirements: CPR certification.  Ambulance Coder certification required within one year of hire and renewed annually thereafter.

Compensation: Starting salary $18.84 an hour. plus excellent benefits.
