COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR
(Part-Time (15-18), Flexible Hours)
St. John Lutheran Church (ELCA) is a mid-size church located in the bedroom community of Ely near Cedar Rapids, IA
As our Communication Coordinator, you will facilitate and help guide communicating the message of St. John with members and neighbors through social media, electronic, and analog media.
As our Communication Coordinator you get to:
- Maintain and curate the church’s website.
- Curate social media posts to Facebook page and group, Instagram, YouTube.
- Review, manage, and update databases and online platforms.
- Produce weekly electronic newsletter, email blasts and updates as needed.
- Produce weekly worship resources (print and projected using PowerPoint).
- Track weekly worship (in person and livestream).
- Manage copyright licenses, records, and reports.
- Coordinate and produce congregational materials and mailings.
- Monitor and order office supplies and resources.
- Manage the maintenance and operation of office machines.
- General office duties.
This job might be for you, if
- You have 1-3 years experience in web and social media production and management.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, English, or a related field is preferred.
- You verbally share ideas, write, design, pay attention to details, edit, and curate multi-media content.
- You are confident with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Power Point), Google, Mail Chimp, Canva, website content management, and social media platforms (Facebook and YouTube in particular).
- You collaborate well with others and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You are self-motivated and flourish in a flexible work environment with minimal supervision.
As our Communications Coordinator, you will report to our Pastor and work alongside other staff and volunteers committed to sharing what’s happening at St. John
