Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Primary Duties:

Responsibilities will include assisting with special event execution, volunteer recruitment and management, working with volunteer committees, public speaking, and data management. 20-25 hours a week. Some evenings and weekends each month.

Qualifications:

  • Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith, and the policies of His Hands Free Clinic
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills needed
  • Possess adequate computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Be self-motivated, dependable, responsible and teachable
  • Have maturity to respect and keep information confidential
  • Be friendly and respect the dignity of all persons

Experience and Training:

  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Previous volunteer management experience preferred

Duties:

  • Manage volunteer recruitment and application process
  • Organize and lead Volunteer in-service meetings
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition events including Christmas party and gifts
  • Maintain up to date competencies in best practices and legal aspects of volunteer management by attending LIV (Leaders in Volunteerism) meetings
  • Provide new volunteer information for the E-Volunteer newsletter and any volunteer updates on practices or procedures
  • Maintain Volunteer Manual in conjunction with other departments
  • Present to community and church groups on His Hands Free Clinic and volunteer opportunities
  • Coordinate volunteer groups and gather volunteer task ideas from other staff
  • Act as point of contact for all volunteer needs for the ministry, including schools, United Way, and churches
  • Track and report on volunteer hours
  • Update volunteer profile information, including contact information, skills, roles and other relevant information for on line portals such as United Way and other sites
  • Special Events
  • Coordinate volunteers for Praise on the River and Laughter is the Best Medicine
    Assist the Development Director in organizing community relations/donor cultivation events
    Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and reach overhead
  • Ability to maneuver throughout the facility
  • Ability to life 25 pounds
