Payment Poster – Central Business Office

The Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Central Business Office is seeking a full-time Payment Poster.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:          

  • Electronically or manually post insurance checks to proper account by date of service and procedure codes stated on the explanation of benefits.
  • Review Exception Reports and correct posted data.  Transfer any balances to patient or second insurance.
  • Process contract adjustments and/or write offs per established guidelines.
  • Sort and alpha file EOBs for imaging.
  • Process insurance carrier recoups as necessary.
  • Balance daily journal per established guidelines.
  • Post patient personal payments per established guidelines.
  • Keep a daily log of all payments posted and balance with the daily totals off computer at the end of each day.
  • Process all credit card payments via on-line program and post payment amount to patient account.
  • Assist with the month end close process as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills a must. 
  • The qualified individual must be able to work well with team members and as well as independently. 
  • Must also have a high level of comfort in working with computer systems.
