Nidey Erdahl Meier & Araguás, PLC is a growing law practice focused on family law and criminal defense and headquartered in Cedar Rapids. The firm is looking for a friendly and welcoming office manager to join our organization in our Cedar Rapids office location. As our office manager, you will serve as a positive first impression of the company and perform a variety of vital administrative tasks. This is a full-time, 37.5 hours-per-week role with paid holidays and vacation time, free covered downtown parking, access to group health insurance, and 401(k) match available.


  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 2+ years working as an office manager or in a similar role.


  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • High comfort level with technology, including online banking and other software.
  • Experience with ProLaw (attorney client management software) is highly desirable, but not required as we can train you.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
  • An ability to interact with various levels of clients, staff, attorneys, and other professionals and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in human resources and bookkeeping is helpful, but not required.

What You'll Do

  • Support the administrative work of the partnership by serving as a confidential employee, arranging meetings, and overseeing administrative projects including but not limited to hiring staff, arranging office repairs, and other projects.
  • Assist with on-boarding new staff, including arranging tax and other document preparation, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Work with the firm’s accountant by providing accurate payroll information and other financial information.
  • Welcome visitors at the front desk by greeting, directing, and announcing them appropriately.
  • Communicate with contractors and others who provide services to the firm, including managing payments to these businesses when necessary.
  • Receive and distribute daily mail and other deliveries.
  • Prepare packages and arrange couriers for outgoing items.
  • Maintain meeting and training rooms and oversee the maintenance of the firm’s offices.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Manage the ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of office equipment and supplies.
  • Support colleagues with administrative tasks as needed.
