Job Purpose

This position supports all product realization of preproduction and production parts accounted for at Bench location. Responsible for planning, task assignments, RFQ OTD, critical path projections, project milestones, sample OTD, and transition to production including planning and schedules to meet customers’ shipping requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the ESP International Opportunity Pipeline

  • Leads all aspects of managing an assigned opportunity including coordination of all meetings, reviews, critical path timelines, and project milestones.
  • Utilizes the ESP International Product Realization Process and available project management tools for planning and progression of assigned opportunities.
  • Enforces critical path, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and reports progression of assigned opportunities.
  • Proactively engages with outside departments to identify and prevent obstacles in the project cycle.
  • Ensures all opportunity information is properly documented and accessible for all team members.
  • Efficiently transitions successful opportunities to OFP teams
  • Provides communication and progress reports to PDP Board, engineering manager, and team members.

Develops and Manages Production Schedule for Assembly and Kitting to Ensure Product Meets or Exceeds Customer Expectations for On-Time-Delivery and Quality

  • Performs critical analysis of customer demand and production bottlenecks by utilizing strong knowledge of Company systems and software programs
    • Monitors requirements through daily analysis of customer demand through supplier portals, RaDAR, or other reports
    • Researches component shortages and other production bottlenecks to identify “at risk” orders as early as possible; coordinates with internal support teams to determine best ship dates
  • Prioritizes and sequence orders logically for optimized efficiency
  • Prepares and communicates daily schedule and requirements to production teams
  • Takes primary ownership of communication and coordinating with counterparts at John Deere Engine Works and John Deere Horicon
  • Analyzes and reports metrics to Production Manager
  • Supports transition of new parts to production
  • Reads and interprets drawings and blue prints to inspect raw and finished goods with Quality inspection equipment (calipers, bore gauge, etc.) as needed

Education, Licenses/Certifications and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of experience in Project Management, Customer Service, or Supply Base Management discipline or related field.

Job Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as financial statements, contracts, and procedure manuals.  Possesses high level business writing skills.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of ESP.
  • Quantitative Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, graphs, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Critical Thinking: Able to display high level reasoning skills in order to solve multiple, complex situations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Computer Skills. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Dynamics CRM.
  • Skills and Abilities: 
    • Knowledge of Scheduling Principles, Risk Assessment, Earned value, PMI Best Practices.
    • High-level understanding of production or scheduling systems.

  • The associate must be willing to work in a fast paced, high stressed environment
  • May be required to travel long distances with overnight stays possible
